Dave Rich update 11/20/18

Hi Ann, The Grille B ullet & surround and the Tire Cover face were the focus on Friday.  The Grill parts were disassembled and dents removed. The shape (it was more of a tri-oval shape) has been corrected on the grille surround and it and the bullet are now almost ready for chrome re-plating. It was tedious work due the nature of the damage to these parts and the detail of the "8" in the center and the concentric rings.   The rear tire cover had the larger creases removed, then was put on the English wheel tool. The remaining dings and creases in the face came out nicely after a bit of working, though the picture doesn't really show all that well.  There are few surface rust areas to tend to and a few small dings in the inner ring that the wheel couldn't get to but otherwise, the tire cover is just about ready to do finish body work and paint prep. I'm going to order up the metal for the fro

Hi Ann, Here is an update of recent work. [Click Images to enlarge] Rusted and broken tailgate attachment bolts removed and screw holes tapped (rethreaded) back to standard size. Repair & rebuild torn wood mounting holes on right door. Corrected gross misalignment of door structure from previous crash damage. This area was pretty damaged. In addition to the tears in the mounting holes, the door had sunk down over 1/2". Rust & scale remediation work started right rear window channel area (waiting on tool order to complete) .

Hi Ann, This week we made some good progress!  All remaining wood removed in as non-destructive a manner possible and is available to be picked up if you would like. Interior is fully stripped with the exception of the headliner (which you wanted to leave intact if possible) and the dashboard which will be removed at a later date. All side glass removed.   The right rear corner window cracked further and will require replacement.  I was able to remove the driver side rear slider window ( that your sister cracked all those years ago ) without further damage. Rust and scale removal started mostly on the driver's side under the window area where there was zero metal coating from the factory.   We stripped all undercoating from the rock shield your dad crafted and the factory shield that was situated above it.  Both can be reinstalled after refurbishing!
